Salary: This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 232 days with a salary range from $73,132 - $81,367.

Job Summary (Primary Purpose): Provide technical assistance and professional development to ESC Region 13 Local Education Agencies and ESC Region 13 colleagues in the area of inclusive instruction for students with disabilities ages 3 through 21.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates): Bachelor's degree Texas teacher certification in the area of special education Five (5) years of current experience in the public-school system

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates): Master's in Education Experience planning and implementing instruction using inclusive practices such as Universal Design for Learning and High Leverage Practices for Inclusive Classrooms Experience in secondary special education settings Experience in self-directed work Experience in creating student-focused individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities Experience providing specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in general education and special education settings Extensive knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Skills in integrating technology into instruction Ability to manage multiple projects

Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public Provide technical assistance to ESC Region 13 colleagues in the area of special education. Collaborate with and actively participate with ESC region 13 teams to improve student performance and to meet the established goals and objectives of the ESC and TEA. Collaborate with other Region 13 staff members to ensure well-articulated and coordinated services in the area of special education Develop and conduct presentations and trainings; contract and negotiate with outside consultants to provide training; develop needed resource materials Collect and analyze LEA and regional performance data related to program plans Provide up-to-date information to LEAs regarding developments, initiatives, and priorities in special education at the federal, state, and regional levels Participate as a member of the statewide network of ESCs as required Serve as liaison with other agencies, regional education service centers, professional organizations, and colleges and universities on issues relating to special education instruction Assist LEAs in using data to maintain ongoing documentation of outcomes and to develop long-term planning systems Other duties as assigned
